Motor vehicle title inspections are necessary when licensing a vehicle in Nebraska which has an out-of-state title. The vehicle and the title must be presented to the Sheriff’s Office for inspection before a Nebraska title will be issued.
Inspections are conducted at the Sheriff’s Office Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, excluding legal holidays. There is a $10 charge for inspections, payable to the Sheriff’s Office.
If the vehicle is not running condition, an appointment can be made for a vehicle inspector to come out to inspect the vehicle. There is a $15 charge if someone needs to come out to inspect. Please call 402-426-6866 to make an appointment.
